A Couple Quick Notes
So much to discuss, so little free time!
On Rush Limbaugh and his bid to become a minor owner in the Rams football franchise - as we complained when Van Jones got run out of his cushy government post in the Obama Administration - we also see similar crap going on to block Limbaugh from his ambition. It was wrong to run Jones out of office for kooky views stated prior to taking office unless somebody can step forward and say the guy was somehow abusing his Obama Admin post. It was just as wrong for liberals to interfere in a private business dealing, just because Limbaugh is a vocal and highly effective opponent of "liberal" Democrats (somebody PLEASE explain to me why we don't just call them Socialists, because that's what they are). The Stupid Nation should know by now that when Al Sharpton AND Jesse Jackson both inject themselves into an issue, there is a rotting stinking dead fish somewhere nearby. I have taken note of the linkages between the vocal opponents of Limbaugh's interest in minority ownership in the Rams and the Obama Administration. I have also taken note of the speculation that George Soros may be involved in the bid. But isn't that just the oddity of oddities - Limbaugh and Soros would have made the strangest of strange bedfellows if this is true. The bottom line is that Limbaugh is obviously passionate about the game of football. So who better to be part owner of a team franchise than someone who absolutely loves the game? The whole thing reeks to high hell, and I can't help but wonder out loud if Limbaugh wasn't somehow set up for a public embarrassment. I am not quite paranoid enough to believe it, but I can't help but wonder.......meantime, I agree with others that Limbaugh should have legal recourse for what just went down. Limbaugh's got the scratch to hire an army of lawyers, but it doesn't look like he's going to go that route. Too bad.
On Obama and his running feud with Fox News - As time goes on we learn more and more about the President who real character was so carefully hidden from view during the campaign. One of the things we are learning is that Obama not only can't hack criticism, but when his very thin skin is pricked, he lashes out like a little boy throwing a fit. As an Obama official boasted, the Administration feels they pretty much control a pliant media - except for Fox News. And boy are they pissed that Fox News won't fall into line. First there was a very curious secret meeting between high-placed Obama official David Axelrod and Roger Ailers of Fox News, and then what seems to be an all out attack against Fox News after that meeting. I haven't seen any info on what went on during that now not-so-secret meeting, but clearly Obama is pissed. Well tough crap. We cheer Fox News for letting the Obama Administration and Obama himself have it right between the eyes, because they all deserve it. Richly so. We laugh at the Obama Administration for drawing more attention to Fox News than it would have garnered otherwise. And we remind all that perhaps one of the most dangerous aspects of the current state is the very pliant press the Obama officials gloat about controlling. We hope in the coming months there will be a tipping point where even the liberal press will be unable to ignore the 20 ton pink elephant parked in the press room of the White House. We also note that Obama doesn't like making tough decisions, as was already evidenced by his voting "present" so many times while a Senator. Now Obama is grappling with a ramp up in troop levels in Afghanistan, and he is dragging his feet in making the tough call, all while American solders in the field die in part because of under-resourcing the war effort. We have offered up scathing criticism of President Bush for allowing ego driven internal power struggles to interfere with military policy setting on the ground in Iraq - those power struggles lead to the deaths of many hundreds of American soldiers. And now while Obama equivocates on the war in Afghanistan, American soldiers are dying. It's a vile disgrace. So far, we still see absolutely NOTHING redeeming about Obama or his sleazy thuggish crew that we can latch on to and truly celebrate. These are dark, dark days for the Republic.
On Swine Flu - as I reported in an earlier post, I was troubled during a recent Doctor visit to see disease spreading magazines piled high in the waiting room. Happy to report that on a more recent follow up visit, the rags were all removed, with an explanatory note saying that due to the swine flu contagion, the mags were yanked. Good.
